PARTNER
Julia Spence
Julia Spence has nearly 40 years’ experience of working in PR for the travel and hospitality sectors. On leaving a London-based international agency in 1994 for a move to Oxfordshire, she launched her own travel PR consultancy, Julia Spence Public Relations. While the business started with just one client, Inntravel, it grew steadily, going from strength to strength. Inntravel remains a client to this day. She prides herself on two things: never having the need to seek out new business thanks to plentiful recommendations from clients, writers and editors; and an impressive client retention record which are an indication of her loyalty to clients and her commitment to client satisfaction.
While the travel industry never stays still, she has the benefit of a lifetime of PR experience to call upon. When Julia Spence Public Relations became JSPR LLP two years ago she reduced her hours. And although she is no longer working a full week, there isn’t a JSPR client in which she’s not actively involved, whether in strategic planning or day to day handling.
PARTNER
Hugh Collins
Following university (and a dissertation on Scott of the Antarctic), Hugh Collins began his career in travel working at Bradt Travel Guides. Here, he took the lead on the independent publisher’s marketing activity, in particular the launch of their Slow Travel series of guidebooks. Joining JSPR in 2016, he quickly found his feet in the world of PR, drawn by the storytelling aspect of the industry. Having become a partner in the business in 2022, he has recently led press trips for a number of JSPR clients, to Scotland, Wales and Spain.
SENIOR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Fliss Hoad
Fliss has been in PR since graduating from Leicester University, and first worked with Julia Spence in Travel PR in 2003. She has a love for words and all-things travel, health and fitness. A keen Francophile, Fliss can often be found getting lost on the footpaths of the Chilterns, or on the edge of her seat at an NT Live performance.
PARTNER
Natalie Postlethwaite
After graduating from Manchester University with a degree in English Language & Literature, Natalie began her PR career at a London-based publisher, promoting new writers and literary events. She joined JSPR in 2007, a local agency which specialised in one of her favourite things – travel, and became a partner in the business in 2022. Natalie lives in Henley on Thames with her young family and can often be found on the golf course (caddying for her son, not playing!) or the tennis court (trying to play).
